Tervetuloa Symbioosi-webinaariin! Symbioosi on vuosittain toistuva hyvinvointiin keskittyvä webinaari. Kyseessä on showcase-webinaari hyvinvoinnin ja nuorisoalan hankkeille sekä yhteistyö- ja verkostoitumistilaisuus eri toimijoiden, opiskelijoiden ynnä muiden tahojen kanssa. Tänä vuonna erityisfokuksena on nuorten hyvinvointi ja liike (kehollisuus).

Symbiosis webinar on 7th October 2021
We will again host our annual seminar with a focus on wellbeing. This is a showcase for wellbeing and youth projects as well as a get-together for professionals, students and others. This year’s theme is young people’s wellbeing and motion (corporeal, embodied experience; body movement).

SPEAKERS
Niko Kosunen
Niko Kosunen is a freelance presenter, a professional parkour coach, and international business consultant. His free time revolves around activism related to youth empowerment and the challenges immigrants face in Finland. Niko has been a participant in the Huuma-project for the last two years. ”I used to say I am not a dancer, but in Huuma I learned to move my body as it should, and could, move. The positive impact this has had on me mentally is something I would never have expected.”
In 2021 Niko’s biggest passion is in developing culture-led solutions to combat social issues such as loneliness and racism.
Päivi Berg
Päivi Berg is PhD and Docent in social psychology. She works currently as a researcher in XAMK, Juvenia – youth research and development centre, at the project FREERIDE: Are there free tickets? Children’s independence and equality in mobility and physical activity following a free bus ride –experiment in the city of Mikkeli. Her previous studies relate for example to young adults in the changing labour market and in the margins of labour market, the position of LGBTIQ+ young people in sport and physical education, and family, social class and the leisure sports activities of children and young people. She is interested widely about the thematic of equality in young peoples’ lives.
Mariusz Dzięglewski
Mariusz Dzięglewski is an assistant professor at the Pedagogical University of Cracow. He also runs a Social Research Lab aimed at providing professional qualitative and quantitative research in the areas of culture, youth, education, and B&R. His main expertise is in international migration. His work has been devoted to various aspects of migratory streams occurring after 2004, the year Poland acceded to the European Union along with nine other East and Central European countries. Among other subjects, he deals with the economic and socio-cultural consequences of migration and return migration for host and home countries, local communities, and individuals. He has conducted fieldwork research among Polish migrants in Ireland on their integration patterns and willingness to return. He has run several projects on NEET youth, vocational education, migrant identity, the outflow of Polish graduates after 2004, return migration. He published his works in “Media, Culture & Society”, “Central and Eastern European Migration Review” and “Polish Sociological Review”. His last book “Coming Home to (Un)familiar Country” was published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Damian Liszka
Damian Liszka – PhD in philosophy. Academic teacher at Pedagogical University of Krakow (Poland), trainer, developer and manager of innovative and transnational B+R, research and implementation projects. As a researcher and an expert, he is responsible for supporting young people, including those who remain outside the sphere of employment and education, i.e. those who are not learning and do not work at the same time (”NEET” – not in employment, education or training). Research areas (selected): youth, labor and education market, social and professional exclusion, European Union.
Jarmo Rinne, researcher at Juvenia – youth research and development centre/South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk.
Professional background: DR.Soc.Sc. (Political science), volleyball coach. Areas of interest and research: Youth studies, Digital media, participation and activism, mobilization, political theory, the impact of ICTs, phenomenology. Additional fields of interest: Philosophy, time, subjectivity, the radical politics of resistance, political art (music, theater, paintings, performances), comics, Dutch early renaissance paintings (Bosch, Bruegel), the art of van Gogh, volleyball coaching, sports, literature.
Aki Lintumäki
Aki Lintumäki is media and community artist and professional youth worker. He works as an RDI-specialist at Juvenia – Youth Research and Development Centre (Xamk).
He has twenty years of experience directing art-based workshops.
Lintumäki is Master of Arts (Audiovisual media).
Oona Hallikas
I am Oona, a 23 year old student. In recent years, I have worked as a store manager in the field of retail, and studied social services. I am currently doing an internship in the project ”Participation and activity of young people in the suburb”. I’m interested about general well-being, child welfare and political sciences.
Tiina Ikkonen
Tiina Ikkonen is currently working at Xamk Creative Industries Research Unit in projects related to digitalization, game industry, immersive experiences and service development in the field of youth work. Among these she has interest in developing family and child services with creative methods in the context of cultural well-being. At the moment she is working on her thesis to create an art-based tool for elderly people to make their food environments visible, which combines her background in design and culture field with current studies in hospitality management.
Anna Jussilainen
Anna Jussilainen is currently working as a project manager and specialist in the Huuma project in the Children and Youth Foundation. Jussilainen has a Master of Arts degree both in Community Dance and in Cultural Studies. She specializes in the applied use of art and creative methods as well as positive psychology. She also works as an independent trainer and artist. Jussilainen has worked with the well-being of young people in various contexts.
Enna Angervuori
Enna Angervuori works as a specialist in the Children and Youth foundation’s Huuma-project. She has a Master of Arts degree in cultural studies and is specialized in community music and theatre, as well as training and group guidance with creative and participative methods. Angervuori’s main areas of expertise and interest are multicultural encounters, global development issues and promoting equality. She has long experience in development cooperation and working with young people with special needs.
Maarit Mänttäri
I’m studying my third year of Service Design at Southeastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, XAMK in Kouvola. I am conducting an internship for my training in the HUUMA -project.
I work there in evaluation. My first profession is as a practical nurse and I spent years working with people of different ages in the Kouvola area.
Angelika Polak
Angelika graduated sociology (psychosociology) from Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University in Poland, Department of Psychology and Humanistic Science. She is a sociologist (Ma Soc), social researcher and lecturer currently affiliated as the Project Manager in the Creative Industries Research Unit at South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk in Kouvola, Finland. Her role in the projects’ activities is to plan, conduct and analyze various types of research and evaluation to understand better societies and cultures by finding creative solutions. Her research interests include youth, well-being.
Eevi Tolvanen on freelance-tanssitaiteilija, joka työskentelee esiintyvänä taiteilijana sekä erilaisissa yhteisöissä. Tolvanen on kiinnostunut yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteen kehittämisestä yhdessä jaettujen kokemuksien kautta. Hän on työskennellyt pitkään erilaisissa oppilaitoksissa ja yhteistyössä nuorisotyön kanssa kehittäen ensisijaisesti nuorten identiteetin tarkastelua sekä nuorten äänen esilletuomista taiteen keinoin. Tanssitaiteen lisäksi Tolvanen luo hetkessä äänimaailmoja konemusiikin ja oman äänen toistamisen kautta.
Anna-Maria on aktiivinen kuopiolainen freelance-tanssitaiteilija, joka toimii useissa taiteen eri konteksteissa. Väisänen toimii opettajana, fasilitaattorina, tanssijana ja koreografina. Vuodesta 2013 alkaen hän on päämäärätietoisesti hakeutunut työskentelemään erilaisten ihmisten kanssa kyseenalaistaen sitä kenelle taide kuuluu. Väisänen pyrkii töissään tuomaan näkyväksi valtarakenteita ja kyseenalaistamaan perinteistä tanssijanormia, tarkastelemaan yhteiskunnan eri ilmiöitä ja tuomaan näkyväksi inkluusiota ja integraatiota.
Tatu Vanhatalo
Tatu Vanhatalo on musiikin tekijä, jolla on pitkä tausta vaihtoehtoisen hiphop-musiikin parissa toimimisesta. Nykyisin Vanhatalo työskentelee äänisuunnittelijana nykytanssin kentällä ja vapaana taiteilijana. Nuorten kanssa hän on työskennellyt musiikin ja tanssin yhteydessä ja on tällä hetkellä ohjaajana Huuma-hankkeessa.
Ilari Salomaa
Ilari Salomaa tarkastelee maailmaa sosiaalisten yhteenliittymien kautta. Kokemusta monialaisesta hanketyöstä on kertynyt Xamkissa reilun neljän vuoden ajan, jota edelsi aktiivinen oppilastoimijuus tuote- ja palvelumuotoilun saralla.
Symbioosi-seminaarin esitys sisältää mentorointihankkeessa luotujen yhteistyösiltojen esittelyä sekä haavekuvina olevia tulevaisuuden toimia nuorten voimavaraistamisen suhteen.

Minua kiinnostaa muotoilun, teknologian ja taiteen rajapinnat ja luova liiketalous. Olen toiminut esittävän taiteen ja kulttuurihallinnon tehtävissä ja luottamustoimissa sekä mm. lukio-opettajana, sivistystoimen hankkeissa, dramaturgina ja tuottajana ennen uraani Xamkin Luovilla aloilla. Useat festivaalit, tapahtumat, esitykset ja workshopit oli suunnattu nuorille. Teen väitöstutkimusta Aalto-yliopiston Median ja muotoilun laitokselle, Learning Environments -tutkimusryhmän Professori Dr. Teemu Leinosen ohjauksessa. Muotoiluprosessin merkitysten muodostuminen, loppukäyttäjien integroiminen osaksi yhteiskehittämisprosessia ja nuorille suunnatut avoimet oppimisympäristöt yhteistyössä mm. taidelaitosten kanssa ovat mukana väitökseni tapaustutkimuksissa.
Symbioosi-webinaari on tänä vuonna mukana Tutkitun tiedon teemavuoden 2021 ohjelmassa.
