On 24 March, Xamk’s Management Team decided that all students continue to participate in theoretical teaching remotely until 5 April. This means that Xamk will switch back to the hybrid model of teaching on Tuesday 6 April, if the coronavirus situation permits this.

As the national epidemic situation remains serious, it is likely that later this week, the hospital districts will continue their recommendation on remote teaching at universities.  By its proactive decision to continue remote teaching until 5 April, Xamk wants to make it easier for its staff and students to plan and make arrangements for the near future.

 

More specific information on possible remote teaching or hybrid model arrangements will be released as soon as the hospital district authorities in Xamk’s areas of operation have reached a decision on their remote teaching recommendations. Currently, information on recommendations after March is not available.  The Management Teams in monitoring the situation in the three hospital districts, and will make further decisions next week at the latest.

International mobility cancelled for the rest of the year

All student and staff mobility from abroad to Finland and from Finland to abroad is cancelled until the end of 2021. In terms of the students, this concerns incoming and outgoing student exchange, exchange related to practical training, as well as double degree studies.

Summer School will be organised fully online, without including any contact teaching.

The International Services will inform Xamk’s partner universities of this decision and contact the students concerned.

Staff members are reminded that international work-related travel is suspended until further notice.
