Welcome to Xamk
Xamk is a higher education institution offering studies in English in many different study fields. We have campuses in the towns of Kotka, Kouvola, Mikkeli and Savonlinna, located in the beautiful region of South-Eastern Finland.
Students from partner institutions of Xamk are welcome to apply for the exchange and double degree studies in Tourism and service business.

Content of studies
Tourism and service business has a profile of producing experience-based tourism services and sustainable restaurant and catering services. The curriculum also emphasises internationality, entrepreneurship and taking advantage of technology and digital solutions in tourism and hospitality. The programme focuses on experience-based tourism business. It gives the competence to work in product development, marketing and managing functions as well as in applied research in tourist enterprises.
You can study f.ex. Design of food products and services, Seasonality and tourism planning and courses in marketing and management. You will study a lot in different groups together with your fellow students and students of other study fields. By working together you develop your skills and character and become a customer service professional with solid education and a team worker who is able to produce services as well as manage and develop the branch in collaboration.
Modes of mobility
Exchange studies
Studies are a combination of business and tourism courses. You can apply for the autumn term, spring term or the whole academic year. It is possible to complete 35 ECTS credits/autumn semester. Language of instruction is English.
Double degree studies
The degree programme in Tourism and service business has a profile of producing experience-based tourism services and sustainable restaurant and catering services. The curriculum also emphasizes internationality, entrepreneurship and taking advantage of technology and digital solutions in tourism and hospitality. You will study in Mikkeli for one academic year. Only the students of the partner institutions, with who we have a valid double degree agreement, can participate in double degree studies. If you are interested in the double degree studies, but you come from a university which is not listed among our double degree partner institutions, please, contact the responsible coordinator

Creating your OLA (Online Learning Agreement)
As an applicant you need to prepare the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) according to your home institution’s guidelines.
If your home institution is not using OLA, please upload the fully signed Erasmus+ Learning agreement as PDF to SoleMOVE
when creating the application.
In addition to OLA you need to fill in your course wishes to the Proposed Study Plan section in SoleMOVE when creating the application.
