Prior degree: The programme is aimed at applicants having a Bachelor’s degree in naprapathy who are licensed to practise the profession in their own country and have at least two years of work experience.The students need to be fluent in English and have basic computer and Internet skills.

Enrolment period: 1st – 7th of December 2020, the enrolment is binding. The enrolment form will open 1st of December at 9 am Finnish time.
Price: Xamk Open UAS courses in English are free of charge untill 31 December 2021.

Objectives:
The programme will deepen and expand your development and specialist skills in naprapathy, providing you with new opportunities to work as a specialist in musculoskeletal disorders in the multidisciplinary health care field.

These studies focus on promoting competence in musculoskeletal health and acting in the field of physical exercise and sports medicine.

Contents and methods:
The primary language of instruction in this programme is English. Most of the studies are organized online. Contact lessions will be held in Kotka, Finland and in Stocholm, Sweden.

The degree programme is implemented in collaboration with Naprapathögskolan – Scandinavian College of Naprapathic Manual Medicine, Stockholm.

The programme is primarily implemented in the form of flexible online courses, including four contact-teaching periods.

The contact-teaching periods cover 3-4 consecutive days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) of intensive studying. Three of these are organised in Kotka and one in Stockholm.

BYOD – Bring your own device
The BYOD policy demands students bring their own devices, i.e. laptops, to campus. Read more here.

Additional information:
You should bring the following documents with you on the first day of studies:
– passport/residence permit or official Finnish ID
– certificate of physical examination (students from outside Finland only). This means that student should have a health examination done by a medical professional (nurse or doctor) who fills in the certificate. The certificate gives Xamk school nurses basic information about your health, in case you need to use their services during your studies.

Enrolment and cancellation:
Enrolment in path studies is binding. Open study path students are taken in enrolment order. If you enroll on several open paths, the primary path is the one you enrolled in first.

If you cannot participate in the path you have already enrolled in, please let us know as soon as possible by email openstudies@xamk.fi. Enrolment can be canceled till 13th of December 2020.

Study grants
Studying in the Open UAS does not entitle you to a study grant or other student benefits or discounts. In case you intend to study unemployed, please contact your local employment office (TE-toimisto) before you begin your studies. If your employer has granted you at least two months of uninterrupted study leave, you can apply for a full adult education allowance from Employment Fund.

Residence permit
If you are not a citizen of Finland, it is possible that you have to have a valid residence permit in order to study in the Open UAS. You cannot get a residence permit based on of Open UAS studies.  More info here.

From path to degree
You can apply in joint application period for Master of Naprapathy degree programme during your open path studies, if you qualify the admission criteria. More information here.

It is also possible to apply for a degree student without a formal qualification at separate admission organized by Xamk. This is possible after you have completed 30 credits at Xamk. More information here. The credits you have completed will be recognized as a part of your degree. Please notice, that if you are admitted as a degree student, the tuition fee for students outside of the EU/EEA is 7000 euros / academic year. More information on tuition fee here.
