South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) continues to arrange teaching in line with the hybrid model on all campuses in autumn 2021. This means that the students who started their studies in January 2021 or are starting in autumn 2021 will study on campus (contact teaching). The aim of the contact teaching arrangements is to support the grouping, wellbeing and studying ability of the starting students.

Practical teaching, including simulation and laboratory exercises and Paja workshop training, are arranged on the campuses, using the required protection.

The hybrid model instructions also apply to continuous learning (open university of applied sciences and continuing education).

The hybrid model is valid until further notice, and returning to campus can happen only when it is allowed by the epidemic situation the associated official instructions. The students and staff members will return to campus four weeks after the Management Team has made a return decision. This four-week transition time will give staff enough time to make the necessary teaching arrangements and timetables and help students organise their daily living and schedules.

Xamk staff are recommended to work remotely until further notice.

Kotka and Kouvola study remotely until 6 June

All theoretical instruction on Xamk’s campuses in Kotka and Kouvola will be provided remotely until 6 June 2021. On Mikkeli and Savonlinna campuses, teaching continues in line with the hybrid model.
