The results of the education development enquiry are better than last autumn.
Every three parts means have risen: 1) learning environment and working atmosphere in the education, 2) study counselling and 3) education.

“This education highlights entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurship” (mean 2.9) was the only mean which was under three = good. Last year there were several means under three.

The best means in the enquiry were:

  • in my education the students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own studies 3.8 (3.7)
  • in my education the students are treated equally 3.8 (3.5)
  • I can get study counselling when needed 3.7 (3.4), this was also the most risen mean
  • I am aware of the aims and content of my education 3.6 (3.5)

The most risen means in the enquiry were:

  • I can get study counselling when needed 3.7 (3.4)
  • my education has a pleasant and functional learning environment 3.5 (3.2)
  • the flow of information in my education is well functioning 3.0 (2.9)
  • in my education the students are treated equally 3.8 (3.5)
  • the working atmosphere supports studying and learning 3.5 (3.3)
  • I get support in making my personal study plan (PSP) 3.6 (3.4).

The variety of the results and in the number of respondents is big between degree programmes.

The results of the education development enquiry will be discussed in Xamk’s Educational Board and in the development forums of the departments. Information gathered through the education development enquiry helps to further develop the education, study counselling and student’s self-steering, the learning environment and the general working environment.

Students answer this enquiry in the middle of their studies. This autumn a total of 724 Bachelor Degree students answered the enquiry in November 2018.

The assessment scale was 1 = poorly, 2 = moderately, 3 = well, 4=very well, 5= excellently and 0 = I don’t know.
