Due to a coronavirus infection, diagnosed on Xamk’s Savonlinna Campus on 3 October, The East Savo Hospital District – Sosteri − recommends remote teaching and working on Savonlinna campus, starting on 5 October and continuing until 14 October.

 

All teaching, including degree programmes and Open UAS, will be carried out remotely. In addition, the campus restaurant Kaari and other services, such as library, Exam rooms for electronic examinations and facilities for recreational activities will be closed. Hybrid teaching again continues on 15 October 2020.

 

Work requiring presence in Savonlinna’s research centres Electronics 3K factory and FiberLaboratory is carried out by following hygiene recommendations and safe distances.

 

In case of even mild coronavirus symptoms, students and staff are advised to contact Sosteri by telephone to arrange coronavirus testing. The telephone number 015 527 7112 answers from 8.00 to 15.30 from Monday to Friday, and the national medical helpline 116 117 at other times.

 

Sosteri has adopted THL’s (Finnish institute for health and welfare) recommendation on the use of face masks. This also applies to Xamk.
