Observis Oy and the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Xamk have signed a cooperation agreement and building together Observis Training Program.

The aim to create a path for IT students where Xamk and Observis will each play their part. The co-operation model will last throughout the studies, all the way through to placements, trainee positions and completing a thesis. This path could eventually lead to a more permanent role with Observis.

– The agreement is a new way to strengthen the link between studies and working life. Throughout the cooperation we will get regular assignments, trainee positions and thesis topics. The cooperation will also enable us to develop the studies to be more relevant to todays working life, says Paula Siitonen Director, School of ICT.

-Observis will take part in the program for example by motivating students to continue with this career path and offering lectures in relevant topics. It is our aim to aim to continue a long term partnership to ensure we get more and more competent employees, says Heikki Isotalus from Observis Oy.

The initial stage of the program is aimed at IT students and the practical implementation of the programme will be managed by Innovation Architect Ville Venäläinen from Observis and Principal Lecturer Jukka Selin from Xamk.  In future the program may be extended to Business and Environmental Engineering students.
