Study while you work

The duration of the studies is 2–3 years, and the studies are, as a rule, conducted flexibly online.

The degree programme includes one contact teaching period (3-4 days) at the beginning of the first academic year in autumn 2024 in Kotka.

If you wish, you can complete the Scientific theory and methods course (5 credits) and the Leadership course (5 credits) at another higher education institute. These studies will be accredited in the degree you are pursuing at Xamk.

Learning environments

Blended learning enables you to study in a flexible way. You can plan your own schedules and focus on studying when it is convenient for you. Despite this, it is advisable to prepare your own study plan to ensure your studies progress as intended.

During the contact teaching periods, we will discuss field-specific questions in the form of lectures, group work and practical demonstrations. This gives you the opportunity to meet other international students and create networks with colleagues interested in developments in the field.

Career opportunities

The programme provides you with expertise and skills needed when working as a naprapathy specialist in various roles, including development and expert positions.

In Finland, a Master’s degree awarded by a university of applied sciences ensures the same eligibility for public positions as a Master’s degree taken at a university.

During the studies, you not only deepen your own specialist skills, but can also make a valuable contribution to developing the activities of your own organisation in the field of musculoskeletal disorders.

At the same time, your competence to work as a specialist in research-based development projects in the working world will increase.

You can focus on various interventions related to physical activity and competitive sports, in particular.
