Name competition for the event centre – prize 2000€
Xamk is organizing the name competition with Kotka event centre. In the name competition competitor must provide the new name for the upcoming event centre of Kotka. The best name idea is rewarded with 2000€. Now it’s time to be creative and share your idea!

Background
The new event center and Xamk’s campus building will be constructed in the Kantasatama harbor between the Maritime centre Vellamo and the inner city in 2023.
The goal of the event center is to become a nationally attractive venue for meetings, conferences, concerts, culture and sporting events as well as business events. It has been using the “working” name Venda, but now we’re inviting you or your team to come up with an official name for the new event center.
The new event center will be a place of pride for the city and needs a name, which reflects its significance and gives the place a strong identity.
What is event centre like?
Effective architecture inspired by the atmosphere of harbour area. In the name idea you can seek inspiration from the history of Kotka and the strong bond with the sea and seafaring.
Competition
Come up with a name for the new event center in Kotka. You can win 2000 €!
Please take the following issues into consideration:
· The name must be generally acceptable
· The name is unique and can be used as such or with slight changes in other languages
· The name must be available for registration to Kotka event centre (don’t register it by yourself!)
- Please notice that in the competition you must share a little story behind the name idea.
Timing
Competition is open during october 1st to october 31st. Winner will be announced during november.
