Production of energy with conventional and alternative technologies
In the field of energy engineering, a strong professional competence is needed. Instructions issued by the various authorities and guiding industry regulations are taken into account while designing the Energy and Environmental Engineering Curricula. Also, the competence elements (knowledge, skills, attitude) are deepen during your studies.
In energy engineering education, curriculum planning core competence consists of the production of energy with conventional and alternative technologies and the ability to evaluate the technical and economic exploitation of the various options. The education is based on energy production in power plants as well as electrical and mechanical engineering, power measurement and control automation equipment and management. Basic engineering skills include a solid mathematical and scientific literacy, too. The degree in Energy Engineering provides you the theoretical qualifications of a power plant supervisor, after the validity of the required work experience is accumulated.
Complementary expertise consists of combinations of features of different options. You can form you a solid power plant expert basis for studying the power plant running on hold and automation-related courses. Energy Efficiency and related service activities in the energy sector are important areas. Complementary studies allow you to become familiar with energy audit activities and clean technologies. Common emphases in South-East Finland University of Applied Sciences degrees (entrepreneurship, digitalization, expertise in Russian) appear qualifications are mandatory studies and to drill down into more through a wide optional studies. Optional languages, as well as related to managerial and leadership studies support a compulsory study.
Modes of mobility
This programme is available in the mode of exchange studies (one- or two-semester long mobility; not leading to a degree).
