Content of studies
Are you interested in our living environment and environmental safety, clean technologies for improving environmental conditions and sustainable development?
Studies in Environmental engineering give you a wide approach to environmental field.You will learn causes, consequences and prevention of environmental problems. To safeguard good living environment, internationally competent professionals of environmental technology and management are needed.
The growing need to safeguard clean environment needs more and more environmental technology and management experts. The environmental engineering field is expanding and developing rapidly around the world. In the programme the engineering knowledge and management skills are integrated as this gives the best conditions to get employed in the companies.
Furthermore, the environmental engineering is expanding to the new sectors e.g. event management, supply chain management and, as a horizontal operation, environmental engineering is more and more combined with ICT applications, material technology and process and energy technologies.
During your studies you can get familiar with e.g.:
- environmental protection
- environmental safety
- measuring and monitoring techniques
- environmental sampling
- environmental management
The language of instruction is English.
Modes of mobility
Exchange studies
Studies are focused on Sustainable environmental technologies and Environmental management. You can apply for the autumn term, spring term or the whole academic year. It is possible to complete 30 ECTS credits or more/semester. Language of instruction is English.
Double degree studies
The growing challenge of the climate change, the expanding need for clean technologies, environmental health and safety issues and the green economy are trends that benefit the students taking studies in Environmental engineering.
You will study in Mikkeli for one academic year. Only the students of the partner institutions, with who we have a valid double degree agreement, can participate in double degree studies.

Creating your OLA (Online Learning Agreement)
As an applicant you need to prepare the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) according to your home institution’s guidelines.
If your home institution is not using OLA, please upload the fully signed Erasmus+ Learning agreement as PDF to SoleMOVE
when creating the application.
In addition to OLA you need to fill in your course wishes to the Proposed Study Plan section in SoleMOVE when creating the application.
