Mobility Window
Mobility Window 30 ects: An excellent opportunity for international student exchange at Xamk!
Mobility Window is defined by Academic Cooperation Association to be a period of time reserved for international student mobility that is embedded into the curriculum of a study programme. Mobility Window gives students an opportunity to study any optional subjects abroad.
At South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, Xamk, we have two different 30 ects Mobility Window programmes. One programme is located in the Mikkeli campus and it’s held between August-December 2024. The other programme is located in the Savonlinna campus and it’s held on January-June 2025.
Mikkeli Campus: Professional collaboration in social work and health care
First start on August 2024, the studies will be held in August- December 2024.
Application period 1.4.-15.5.2024
The ensemble of studies combine six different cources, each 5 ects. They all include theory and visits in professional field & cooperation with work life experts. The courses form a unified package of 30 ects about professional collaboration in social work and health care.
1.Working together -Professional collaboration in social work and health care environment, 5 ects
The students are able to learn widely about professional collaboration in social work and health care.
2. Present phenomena and challenges with mental health and substance abuse, 5 ects
The students are able to explore the phenomena and challenges of our time in the field of mental health and substance abuse. The students will learn how to face the challenges by availing professional collaboration.
3. Multiprofessional collaboration in the field of child welfare, 5 ects
Children and families are in the focus of cooperation. The students will learn how to build bridges between social work and health care for child welfare.
4. Greencare in rehabilitation, 5 ects
The students will familiarise themselves with nature-based methods in the rehabilitation process. The course will utilize nature environments and cooperation with Active Life Lab of Xamk (Active Life Lab – Xamk)
5. Supervising and supporting self-care management in social work and health care environment, 5 ects
The students will learn how to supervise, support and evaluate self-care management in social work and health care.
6. Development project together with work life, 5 ects
Now it’s time to assemble students knowledge of the professional collaboration in social work and health care. The students will get the opportunity to experience real work life and get to know the work life experts through a development project.

Savonlinna Campus: Development of Well-Being and Work Community Skills
First start in January 2025
Application period 15.9.-1.11.2024
Students can choose all or some of the courses from the course list below.
1. Health promotion, 5 ects
2. Management and work community skills, 5 ects
3. Service design in social work, healthcare and welfare fields, 5 ects
4. Well-being from Nature utilizing nature environments, 5 ects
5. Work and student well-being, 5 ects
6. Health and wellness exercise, 5 ects
The students will understand what health promotion means and how to use health exercise recommendations. They will understand how immobility and physical activity affect health. The students will learn how to plan health-promotion exercises, motivate and to note special features of different customer groups.
