Note that you can enrol for Open UAS studies at the maximum of 50 ECTS credits per semester. One person’s enrolments exceeding 50 ECTS credits are deleted in the enrolment order. Paying attention to this is important when planning your studies.

Please also notice that Xamk degree students cannot enrol on Open UAS courses.

Learning outcomes:
After completing the course you

  • recognize your personal strengths and development needs while planning your higher education studies
  • know what kind of study skills and digital competence are needed in higher education studies

  • can operate in digital learning environments

Content and methods:
The course focuses on learning about different study skills and techniques as well as using digital tools. The course also lets students practice studying online and assess themselves as learners.

This is an online nonstop start course, so you can begin the course any time and complete it entirely individually. The time for completing the course is 8 weeks.There are no compulsory online meetings, but the teachers are available online at certain dates.

The course covers 2 ECTS credits, totalling 54 hours of student work. The number of hours is theoretical and varies according to student effort (eg. reading / watching study material, rehearsal activities, assignments).

Internet access and computer or laptop with audio equipment are required.
