The long-term goal of the project is to strengthen the Eastern Finland fisheries industry and business.

Goal-oriented collaboration creates better opportunities to secure additional resources for development from various funding sources. It is also a means to disseminate development results more widely at the regional and national levels and increase national visibility.

AS A SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE:

Deepen goal-oriented collaboration among regional stakeholders. Define the future goals and actions of the network.

TARGET GROUP:

Primary target group: Eastern Finland’s fisheries industry stakeholders, including fishery areas, fishermen, fish processors and buyers, regional authorities, industry developers, and educators.
Secondary target group: Water area owners and cooperatives, national authorities, other Kala-Leader groups.

ACTIONS:

The project’s actions focus on identifying and engaging network stakeholders and organizing the network.
1. Launching network activities.
2. Involving decision-makers.
3. Developing an action plan.

RESULTS:

As a result of the project, at least 8-10 fisheries industry stakeholders/interest groups representing all regions are committed to the Eastern Finland fisheries network. The network’s concrete activities have started, and the network has an action plan in place until 2025.
