The XAMK Green Future Hackathon was an accessible, online 48-hour sprint for everyone interested in innovation and helping boost Kymenlaakso!
The hacking started Thursday, February 4th at 3 pm and ended on Saturday, February 6th at 5 pm.
We strongly support local business and the aim of this hackathon was to help innovate and plan environmental friendly solutions. The solutions could have included for example:
- New completely green services
- sustainable development
- ecological improvements
Student participants received 2 study credits for participation, and all hackathon participants from Xamk who were in a pitching team also got the possibility for meals from chosen restaurants in XAMK campus cities.
The hackathon was produced by XAMK RISICO, but organizers include the EIT Raw Material (European Institute of Technology and Innovation) Innovation Camp by JA Finland (Nuori Yrittäjyys) and XAMK Twin Campus with ITMO University in St Petersburg.
During the event, we provided mentoring and other help for idea-creation and successful teamwork in a virtual team.
From participants, we expected an open mind and a willingness to work with people you have possibly not met before.
