The purpose of the project is to improve the logistics, catch sorting and purchase activities in fishing industry in the area of Eastern Finland

In the Eastern Finland the long transport distances raise the transportation costs easily too high. Furthermore, more efficient sorting of catches increases profitability. The digital process management system would contribute the business between the fishers, suppliers, manufacturers, transportation companies and retailers.

The purpose of the project is to:

– Produce more information of logistical possibilities
– Define the technical criteria for catch sorting machine with higher volumes of fish and outline the possibility of joint use of catch sorting machines between the stakeholders
– Evaluate the digital process management, systems and development ideas for purchase process in the fresh water fishing industry

The main procedures of this project is to improve catch sorting and logistics in the fresh water fish industry. The purpose is to create the framework for the digital system that would improve purchase process of fish. The resources, investments, logistical solutions and profitability of the purchase processes will be determined. As a result of this project, the fresh water fishing industry should utilize digitalized purchasing processes more effectively. In order to establish the new digitalized process management system, the definition of the system framework and the requirements need to be determined in beforehand by a development team. The stakeholder development team will share their experiences and provide feedback in order to develop the process management system for fish trading.
