Novel robotics for embryo selection and germination, commercialization preparations are in progress.

Trees are essential to life, but they face challenges in climate change. Tree breeding results in improved growth, quality, and survival of trees in various growing conditions.

The goal is to prepare for the commercialization of Norway spruce somatic embryogenesis and embryo germination robotics. The viability and quality of forest seedlings are improved by multiplying selected tree seed embryos. Robot and AI-guided embryo handling enable cost-effective production of elite seedlings.

The technology and its scalability ensure faster tree breeding results and more efficient use of human resources. The developed robotics can be easily integrated into existing systems.
