Xamk launches a pilot with the Frendie Kaverisovellus (Friend App) at the beginning of the year. Frendie Kaverisovellus is a Finnish startup that helps you find friends who are suitable for your life situation and share similar interests in studies, work, and leisure. The app promotes social well-being and prevents loneliness. Frendie Kaverisovellus is free for users, and Xamk students will have their own community on the app, accessible with a code, allowing students to connect with others from the same institution as friends.

“Especially in remote studying, it can be quite lonely at times. With the Frendie Kaverisovellus, you can find other students in similar situations and even schedule joint study sessions! Collaborative studying is a meaningful way to learn, both online and in-person,” commented Karoliina Peltola, Xamk’s Study Psychologist, on the collaboration between Xamk and the Frendie Kaverisovellus.
