Xamk is providing its Open University of Applied Sciences courses taught in English free of charge to Ukrainians who have fled the war in their home country and arrived in Finland.

Xamk’s Open UAS, Xamk Pulse, is donating vouchers worth 175 euros for the purpose of completing courses at Open UAS. Students can use the voucher to pay the semester fee and this way choose a total of 50 ECTS credits of studies.

– We want to give our support and show our solidarity to Ukrainians fleeing the war by offering them the possibility to complete short-term higher education studies, says Mirja Toikka, Senior Executive Vice President. We hope that these Open UAS studies make it easier to adapt to Finnish society, provide skills and competences for possible further study or employment and offer hope for a new beginning in Ukraine or Finland.

The selection of courses implemented in English includes language, business and social and health care studies, among others. The courses are fully online, and many provide the opportunity to proceed in accordance with your own schedule, by studying independently. It is possible to start some of the courses directly after enrolment.

Students taking the courses must have good English skills. The courses are intended for all people, regardless of age or educational background. Ukrainians living in Finland who have arrived in the country before the war are also entitled to this opportunity.
