The free city of games brings games and game culture to the centre of kouvola in november!

 

The Free City of Games is a free public event taking place in the centre of Kouvola in November, organized as a part of the Capital of Game Art event complex. The Free City of Games, lasting the whole of November (November 3–30, 2022), showcases  games and game culture to the public in a versatile way. The content of the event changes during the month and includes for example game art, work from the game industry professionals, game making workshops, communal activities, game nostalgia and, of course, gaming!

The event offers a lot of interesting things to see and experience for visitors of all ages, whether you’ve spent your whole life playing games or just play chess occasionally. So come by yourself or together with your friends to have fun and play, and explore what the world of games can offer!

The Free City of Games, lasting the whole of November, showcases games and game culture to the public in a versatile way.

About the Capital of Game Art project:

The aim of the Capital of Game Art project is to highlight games as their own art form, to present and support the work of local game makers, and to involve locals through game-making and gaming. The project is done in co-operation with the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, the City of Kouvola, Eduko, the Poikilo Museums and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, sponsored by the Kymin Osakeyhtiön 100-vuotissäätiö, Kymenlaakso Regional Fund, Kouvolan Lakritsi, Kymi Regional Cooperative, Shopping Centre Veturi and Kouvolan Asunnot.
