On March 3, Xamk’s management team outlined that Xamk is following the recommendations of hospital districts in the area of operation, when it comes to public events.. They are currently stricter in some cities than the regulations of the regional government agencies. The following limits are currently in force:
- Kotka: 10 persons
- Kouvola: 10 persons
- Mikkeli: 10 persons
- Savonlinna: 6 persons
The authorities’ guideline is that the limits concerning public events do not apply to instruction. In Xamk, too, they do not apply to practical instruction, which is provided as contact teaching.
However, the management team decided that during the national lockdown period, March 8-28, these limits apply at face-to-face exams because they bring together students who would not otherwise be in contact with each other. Participants of the exams are therefore divided into different rooms, if necessary.
Other events and services
According to Xamk’s coronavirus instructions, events and meetings are arranged remotely whenever possible.
Xamk restaurants will mainly serve as take away restaurants during the lockdown period. More information about this will be published later.
