Mikkeli Water Week highlights the importance and possibilities of water from various perspectives, including researchers, companies in the field, regional residents, and tourists. Mikkeli Water Week offers an opportunity to exchange scientific information and experiences via speaker presentations, panel discussions, exhibitions, side events and networking.
Mikkeli Water Week will be organized for the second time in September 2025.
Water is vital for life. Our lake nature is extremely valuable, and our province has the cleanest waters in the world. Water, forest and food are the focus points of the regional strategy of South Savo.
Mikkeli is a pioneer of water expertise. In the capital of clean water, know-how around water has been ambitiously and persistently built. That means education, research and development that produce new water supply solutions and business, resulting in vitality and well-being. These are also the goals of the Blue Economy Mikkeli center of excellence.
The program consists of different events, e.g. The Finnish Lakeland Forum seminar 16th of September and Business water day 17th of September.
The organizers are the founders of the Blue Economy Mikkeli centre of excellence: the City of Mikkeli, LUT University, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), Mikkeli University Consortium (MUC) and Mikkeli development company Miksei.

Venue
The conference is organized at the Mikaeli Concert and Congress Hall in Mikkeli, Finland. The address of the venue is Sointukatu 1, 50100 Mikkeli.
The Mikaeli Concert and Congress Hall is a masterpiece of Finnish architecture designed by Professor Arto Sipinen. It is located in a scenic location on the shores of Pankalampi, near the Hanhilampi nature reserve. The spacious foyers of Mikaeli offer magnificent views over the adjacent Pankalampi pond, and the atmosphere of the foyers changes according to seasons.
Mikaeli is located roughly 1 km from the city center of Mikkeli. You can easily reach Mikaeli by walking or by the local bus connection 4T. Mikaeli offers a free of charge car park for 167 vehicles and a free of charge wireless internet connection.
