Welcome to take part in developing a new Finnish solution for the automated identification and sorting of fish! The project focuses on Finnish conditions, species, and the needs of domestic commercial fisheries. It is possible to join as a partner – we are actively looking for Finnish companies and stakeholders to collaborate in the development work.

- Utilize an AI- and imaging-based solution for automated fish identification

- Design and build a sorting machine prototype for research use

- Develop an AI model to recognize the most common Finnish fish species (e.g. perch, vendace, smelt, roach)
- Test the prototype in a real operating environment with partner companies
- Evaluate the solution’s performance, costs, and potential for further development
- A functional prototype for automated fish identification and sorting
- A trained AI model for recognizing key fish species
- Practical test results and validation in a real business environment
- A solid foundation for commercialization and further development
