Flexible skill paths for digitization
The project responded to the growing needs for skills in companies, municipalities, the well-being services of counties, public administration and in the GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) sector.
Digitization continuous learning
The project aims
The project aimed to promote employment and offer novel competence by developing a working life based education solution in digitization for two educational levels.
The project advanced continuous learning and employment matches various tasks in digitization. The project enhanced the participants’ digital skills, helped to solidify the education offering, enabled the extension of the mass digitization mission in the Southern Savonia region and strenghted the activities on the development platform of Memory Campus.
The project outcomes
Two separate but connected courses are planned together with the working life partners. The study language was Finnish.
The outcomes:
36 educated Digitization professionals (Samiedu and National Archives Finland), offered three times during the project.
38 educated Digitization developers (Xamk and National Archives Finland, offered twice during the project.
The project included the developed study and work life paths, novel open badge in digitization and openly licensed training materials for conducting.
The project also builded a new Digitization Expert Network, a unique base of digitization-related knowledge and expertise, advancing continuous learning in the field on national level developing digitization and continuous learning. The network operates in Finnish Digitoinnin osaamisverkosto – Memory Campus and has already 230 members in May 2025.
