Guidance Power for Language and Culture-Aware Internships in the Social and Health Care sector
The ProHarkka Southern Finland – Guidance power for Language- and Culture-Aware Internships in Social and Health Care sector project addresses challenges in the social and health care sector in collaboration with other ProHarkka regional projects.
Project objectives
- Develop and strengthen the language- and culture-aware guidance competence of social and health care organisations.
- Develop and establish a regional and national internship model that supports the learning and integration of non-native language social and health care students into working life.
- Strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions, wellbeing services counties and other social and health care service providers, and develop and share guidance expertise in expert networks. The project will develop and describe a national operating model.
Project work packages and deliverables
Work Package 1: Coordinating project collaboration and describing the national operating model
Work Package 2: Developing and training language- and culture-aware guidance
- Needs survey
- Training package for language- and culture-aware guidance competence
- Orientation package for supervisors of internships for non-native language students in the Workseed learning environment
- Competence mapping and the so-called onboarding process for non-native language students in the Workseed learning environment
- Development of AI-assisted, language-supported guidance competence (together with the ProHarkka project of the University of Eastern Finland)
- Rapid feedback on internship objectives for non-native language students using AI in the Workseed learning environment

- ProHarkka Central Finland (coordinator: TAMK)
Laurea University of Applied Sciences coordinates all of these ProHarkka coordination projects.
