1524 professional graduated from Xamk during summer and autumn 2025
Including those who graduated earlier this spring, the total number of graduates this year so far is 2268. This figure will continue to grow during the final days of the year.
“The number of graduates continues to grow until the last days of the year, as it is now possible to apply for graduation on any day of the year. Last year, we reached a record of nearly 2,400 graduates, and this year’s figure will be very close to that. That means a lot of new expertise for our regions and for all of Finland,” says Heikki Saastamoinen, CEO and President of Xamk.
Xamk will host a graduation celebration for all students who graduated during the summer and autumn on Thursday, December 18. The event will take place at the Savonlinna campus, where all graduates are invited for coffee and the opportunity to meet each other.
The celebration will also be streamed live on Xamk’s Instagram. The on-site program begins at 14:30, and the Instagram live starts at 15:00. Graduates from all campuses have registered to attend celebrations in Savonlinna.
The event will feature a speech by Heikki Saastamoinen, reflections from graduates on their studies and graduation, and the announcement of Xamk’s Alum of the Year. The hosts of the event are Xamk students Katja Korhonen and Henna Korhonen, with other students also involved in the production.
“Times are challenging, with cuts being made in many areas and uncertainty about the future. However, education is never wasted—that’s something you can be sure of. We are proud of every graduate who has completed their studies and wish them all the best for the future,” comments Katri Ryttyläinen-Korhonen, Vice President for Education.
The names of graduates are published monthly on Xamk’s website and shared with the media. Xamk organizes graduation ceremonies twice a year—once in spring and once at the end of the year—at one campus at a time. The events alternate between campuses in South Savo (Mikkeli and Savonlinna) and Kymenlaakso (Kotka and Kouvola). During the celebrations, scholarships are also awarded to outstanding students.
