Get active in Savonlinna
Xamk Sports offers sports activities for students.
There is a gym on Savonlinna campus, which students can use free of charge. Students need to buy a sport pass to participate in the instructed sport groups.

Gym
Students and staff may use the campus gym free of charge.
Opening hours of the gym:
Mon–Sun 7:00–21:00.
You can access the gym with the HID access tag.
The gym is reserved for the staff on Mondays and Wednesdays 16:00–17:00 (students cannot use the gym).
Sport pass
Students need a sport pass (subject to a charge) to participate in ice-hockey, gymnastics and crossfit.
Price 2026-2027
– 15 € autumn semester (1.9. – 18.12.2026) / 15 € spring semester (11.1. – 25.4.2027)
– 30 € academic year (1.9.2026 – 25.4.2027)
Kaakko’s members:
10 € semester or 20 € academic year.
The sport pass can be paid in kide.app.
After you have paid the sport pass, you can collect Xamk Sports overall badge from SOHVA’s/KAAKKO’s office during its opening hours by presenting the payment receipt.

Sports calendar
Check the weekly sport groups from the sports calendar below. For more information, click on the activity you are interested in. There is information also in English.
You need to sign up for Crossfit (click the activity and check the instructions). For the other activities you don’t have to sign up.
The calendar is subject to change.
The sport groups start on August 31.
Insurances
Xamk students, whose municipality of residence is located in Finland according to the Population Information System and Municipality of Residence Act are insured in Xamk’s instructed sport groups (presented in the sports calendar).
Otherwise, own insurance is needed.
Students are not insured when training independently in Xamk’s facilities (e.g. in the gym).
