You can apply to degree studies at Xamk after you have completed the required amount of open path studies in an Open University of Applied Sciences in Finland.

Application on the basis of Open UAS studies, Autumn 2026 Intake
Applications are processed continuously. We aim to publish the admission result within one month from the submission of a complete application. If the admission is based on e.g. an interview, the result is however published after the interview or after every phase of the application has been completed and evaluated. Please note that results will not be published during the holiday seasons.
You can submit only one application and apply to two degree programmes. You cannot submit another application even if your first application is rejected.

Eligibility and admission criteria
Eligibility
You can apply to degree studies at Xamk after you have completed the required amount of open path studies in an Open University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
- 50 credits of bachelor level studies or
- 15 credits of master level studies (path for the degree of 60 credits)
- 30 credits of master level studies (path for the degree of 90 credits).
Personal Study Plan applicants
- You want to update your bachelor’s degree in the same or related field to a different Bachelor’s degree and have completed half (or studies specified by the programme) of the credits required in the personal study plan in an open university of applied sciences or
- you want complete the unfinished degree studies done in Xamk, according new curriculum and have completed half (or the studies specified by the programme) of the credits required in the personal study plan in the open university of applied sciences
- Personal study plan is made in the beginning of the Open UAS studies.

Admission criteria
The degree programme you apply to must generally be the same where you have studied as an Open student. The courses which give eligibility for applying in this admission must be mostly the degree studies’ first year core competence studies. The suitability of Open path studies completed outside Xamk is individually considered.
When applying for a master’s degree programme, you must in addition meet the general eligibility requirement for the studies (suitable higher education degree and a minimum of 2 years’ of work experience after completing the degree).
In the autumn 2026 intake you can also apply with:
- Post-Graduate Diplomas from Xamk (considering Master of Business Administration, International Business Management and Master of Hospitality Management, Tourism and Service Business)
- Post-Graduate Diploma 60 credits Entrepreneurship and Start-Ups
- Post-Graduate Diploma 60 credits Business Management
- Post-Graduate Diploma 60 credits Tourism and service business.
- Please note! (40 credits will be transferred from Tourism and service business diploma to Master of Business Administration, International Business Management degree studies from admitted applicants)
- Foundation Year studies conducted in Xamk (considering:
- Bachelor of Engineering, Information Technology
- Bachelor of Engineering, Water Technology and Sustainability
- Bachelor of Engineering, Bioproduct Technology
- Bachelor of Engineering, Game Technology
- Bachelor of Engineering, Efficient Supply Chain Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration, Digital International Business)
- 30 credits from Golden Gate university (considering Master of Business Administration, International Business Management)
Attachments
Attach an up-to-date transcript of records of your open UAS studies to your application form. The certificate must be official and confirmed by the current higher education institution. If you have completed the open UAS studies at Xamk, you can download a transcript of records from Peppi by yourself for attachment.
If you apply to a Master’s degree programme, you also need to attach the following documents:
- a copy of degree certificate giving eligibility to apply to the degree programme in question
- copies of work certificates (minimum 2 years / 24 months) from the field after graduation
Tuition Fees 2026-2027
- Bachelor’s degrees 10 700 euros / academic year
- Master’s degrees 13 500 euros / academic year
Early Bird
The Early Bird scholarship is a 10% discount on the tuition fee of the first study year at Xamk.
You can get the scholarship if you:
- accept the offer of admission from Xamk within 7 days from the admission notice and
- pay the tuition fee within 21 days from the admission notice.
Please note that the Early Bird scholarship may not be available in all separate applications. The availability of the Early Bird scholarship and the exact deadlines are informed in the offer of admission.
How to apply
Application form is submitted at Studyinfo service during the application period. The application form closes on the last application day at 3 pm Finnish time.
Application fee
Applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies. If you are from outside the aforementioned area and you are applying to Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies, you will need to pay the application fee which is 100 euros.
Other application possibilities
Remember that you can also apply for degree studies through Joint Application or Rolling admission. Timetables can be found on our Applying website. If you are selected for the degree studies through Joint Application, Rolling admission or through the Application on the basis of Open UAS studies, you will continue your studies according to your personal study plan.
If you are admitted as a degree student:
Confirm the offered admission, pay tuition fee (if required) and enrol as student according to instructions given in the admission letter. Notices of admission are sent by email.
You must accept the study place and enrol as a student by the deadline given in the offer letter through Studyinfo service.
Enrol as an attending or non-attending student when accepting the study place offer. If you are liable to pay tuition fees for the studies, you are automatically registered as an attending student after paying the tuition fee (and meeting the possible conditions).
Enrolment for non-attendance for the first year in degree studies is possible only on certain legal grounds.
The admission is conditional until Xamk has checked the certificates used for. The study place can be withdrawn if you have given false information.
The right to study as a degree student starts from the beginning of the next academic semester (1 January or 1 August).

Admission criteria for the application based on Open UAS studies for degree programmes conducted in English at Xamk is as follows:
Request for adjustment
According to the legislation in Finland, an applicant has a right to request for adjustment to the decision concerning student selection within 14 days of publishing the results of student admission.
If you believe that there has been a mistake in the student selection and the admission criteria have not been applied correctly, you must first contact admission services at the university of applied sciences where the student admission decision has been made. If the decision was made at Xamk, contact: admissions@xamk.fi.
If this does not clarify the matter, you can make a written request for adjustment to the decision regarding student admission.
A request for adjustment must specify the name and contact information of the person making the request, the decision that the request for adjustment concerns, the points of the decision that adjustment is sought for and the grounds for the request for adjustment. If necessary, supporting documents can be attached to the request.
