Academic calendar
The South-Eastern university of applied sciences provides tuition in two semesters as well as during summer studies.
On this page, you will find information about the academic year’s schedules.
2025-2026 calendar
- Autumn semester 1 August 2025 – 31 December 2025
- Spring semester 1 January 2026 – 31 July 2026
- Summer courses 2 May 2026 – 31 August 2026
Starting dates of studies
- Between 1 August and 1 September 2025, teaching can be arranged for separately determined courses.
- New students start their studies with an orientation week from 25 August to 29 August 2025, continuing students start on 1 September 2025.
- In January, both new and continuing UAS students will start on 12 January 2026.
Teaching is not arranged during the following periods:
- 20 October 2025 – 26 October 2025 (week 43)
- 22 December 2025 – 11 January 2026 (weeks 52, 1 and 2)
- 23 February 2026 – 1 March 2026 (week 9)
2026-2027 calendar
- Autumn semester 1.8.2026–31.12.2026
- Spring semester 1.1.2027–31.7.2027
- Summer courses 2.5.2027–31.8.2027
Starting dates of studies
- 1.8.–1.9.2026 teaching can be arranged for separately determined courses.
- New students start their studies with an orientation week from 24.8.-28.8.2026 (1 week), continuing students start on 31.8.2026.
- In January, both new and continuing UAS students will start on 11.1.2027.
Teaching is not arranged during the following periods:
- 19.10.2026–25.10.2026 (week 43)
- 21.12.2026–10.1.2027 (weeks 52, 53 ja 1)
- 1.3.2027–7.3.2027 (week 9)
Graduation is continuous
Applications for degree certificate are handled continuously. More information about graduation practices can be found from Lux intranet.
Graduation ceremonies are held twice a year.
