Graduates of Xamk are celebrated in Kouvola on 21st May!
During the first part of the year, a total of 658 new professionals have graduated from Xamk.
Graduates from Xamk represent expertise in a wide range of fields and are the future professionals who maintain, renew and develop the key functions of our society. Of the graduates, 499 completed a bachelor’s degree and 159 completed a master’s degree.
Xamk will organise a graduation celebration for all students who graduated during the winter and spring on Thursday, 21 May. The celebration will be held on the Kouvola campus, where all graduates have been invited for graduation coffee and to meet each other.
Xamk’s Instagram Live will also broadcast the event. The on-site event begins at 2.30 p.m., and the Instagram Live broadcast starts at 3.00 p.m.
During the celebration, attendees will hear an address by Heikki Saastamoinen, CEO and President of Xamk, reflections from graduates on their studies and graduation, as well as a musical performance by Xamk student Flourish Wealth. The event will be hosted by Xamk students Hanna Susi and Elina Kottila.
“It is wonderful to see such a large number of graduates and to know that we are contributing new highly educated professionals both to our own regions and to different parts of Finland. Skilled labour is needed now and in the future, so every graduate’s contribution is important. I am proud of every graduate – you have done valuable work and reached a significant milestone, even though the journey has certainly not always been easy. Now is the time to pause for a moment, celebrate your achievements and congratulate both yourselves and each other on this excellent accomplishment. Warm congratulations to all graduates, and at the same time congratulations to the regions and to Finland as a whole on these new professionals!” comments Vice President Katri Ryttyläinen-Korhonen.
We publish the names of graduates monthly on Xamk’s website and also send them to the media. Graduation celebrations are organised twice a year, in spring and at the end of the year, on one campus at a time. The celebrations are held alternately on the South Savo campuses (Mikkeli and Savonlinna) and the Kymenlaakso campuses (Kotka and Kouvola). Scholarships for distinguished students are also awarded in connection with the celebrations.
