Founding an accredited concrete testing laboratory in Ukraine through a licence agreement

The establishment of a concrete testing laboratory in Ukraine will contribute to Xamk’s strategic goals. Sustainable profitability and impact are pursued through growth and internationalization as well as by accelerating the green transition.

FROM VISION TO VERIFICATION – ENABLING EXCELLENCE IN MATERIAL TESTING

Reliability Begins with Testing

The aim of the project is to establish an accredited concrete testing laboratory in Ukraine, for which the status of a Notified Body will be acquired. The laboratory is set up under a licensing agreement with a local partner. Its main tasks are concrete testing services, certification of blast furnace slag powder products, and related research and development activities.

Aiming for sustainable profitability and impact

According to an estimate made in 2023, the reconstruction needs of Ukraine for the next 10 years will be more than 400 billion euros. As the war continues, the need grows. When the war ends, Ukraine will be one of the largest construction sites in history. Demand for concrete testing is growing significantly, as quality assurance is critical to the success of construction projects.

A Mark of Quality and Trust

Accreditation by an external body ensures the reliability, accuracy and compliance of the testing laboratory’s operations with international standards. Accreditation shows that the laboratory is functioning competently and its results are credible and accepted by both customers and authorities.

The concrete testing laboratory of Xamk’s KymiLabs research unit offers several accredited tests for concrete, and the laboratory has strong expertise in maintaining business. The aim of the Freedom project is to transfer the expertise of KymiLabs (to the project partner).

From precision to trust — accreditation ensures every result counts.
