What we do

There is need to improve the conditions and capabilities for international recruitment and diversity in companies in the Kymenlaakso region. Diversity and international recruitment are key to maintaining the economic competitiveness and vitality of Kymenlaakso. Attitudes towards diversity have become more positive, and companies that invest in diversity perform better economically than others.

During the project:

  • A comprehensive mapping will be conducted to form an overview of the skills and personnel needs of local companies
  • Training programs and support models will be developed and piloted to support the companies recruitment capabilities
  • Innovative employment models will be trialed and piloted
  • Integration services for international students and job seekers will be improved
  • The Kymenlaakso Future Workshop 2025 event will be organized

The project target groups are companies and other employers in the Kymenlaakso region, people with immigrant backgrounds, and local authorities.

In the future labour market, skilled professionals are increasingly in demand and workforces are becoming more international. Companies that invest in diversity often achieve stronger economic performance than others.
