Applicant Numbers for Xamk’s English-Language Degree Programmes

There were 439 study places available. The admissions included 11 Bachelor’s degree programmes and 2 Master’s degree programmes.

There were two application methods. From November until the end of February, Xamk’s own Rolling Admission process was open. In January, the programmes were also included in the national Joint Application.

The most popular programmes were Information Technology in Mikkeli and the business degree programmes in Kouvola — Digital International Business and Business Analytics, with the latter included in the admissions for the first time. The Nursing programmes in Kotka and Savonlinna also attracted strong interest.

The highest number of applicants came from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Finland, Nepal, and Nigeria.

These recently closed admissions included three new English-language degree programmes, and three more new programmes are planned for next year. In addition to increasing the number of programmes, Xamk aims to strengthen students’ everyday life and career paths in Finland.

– We want to help create opportunities to settle and find employment in Finland. For example, we offer scholarships for independent language development and local engagement, such as volunteer work,” says Vice President of Education Katri Ryttyläinen-Korhonen.

Teaching in the English-language degree programmes will begin in autumn 2026, regardless of which application process the study place was received from. The next Xamk Rolling Admission round for English-language programmes will open on 15 May 2026.

Rolling Admission

  • Xamk’s own flexible application process
  • Application period: 15 November 2025 – 28 February 2026
  • Applicants may submit only one application and apply to one programme
  • Applications are processed continuously in the order they are received
  • Decisions are usually given within approximately 3 weeks
  • Fast processing gives applicants more time to apply for a residence permit and move before studies begin

Joint Application (Spring Joint Application Round 1)

  • National application process; applicants may apply to different higher education institutions and 1–6 programmes within the same application
  • Application period: 7–21 January 2026
  • Admission results will be published no later than 27 May 2026
