What is Dialogi+?
Dialogi+ is a systemic-dialogical development structure maintained by South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk). Its purpose is to ensure the long-term maintenance, development and integration of child welfare expertise into professional practice.
The development structure is part of Juvenia, the Youth Research and Development Centre. As a co-creation and learning environment, Juvenia brings together young people, stakeholders, Xamk students and international trainees, as well as researchers.
Dialogi+ operates as an ecosystem of expertise, bringing together child welfare professionals from wellbeing services counties, higher education experts and other professionals involved in developing the field.
The development structure is coordinated by Xamk’s MILA – Systemic-Dialogical Expertise for Child Welfare project. In cooperation with the Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso, the project develops systemic-dialogical practices and approaches for child welfare.
Objectives
Our aim is to strengthen systemic-dialogical expertise and make up-to-date knowledge, training and methodological expertise readily available. Our work is based on multidisciplinary collaboration, co-creation and research-based knowledge.
We aim to build national and international networks and provide access to the latest knowledge and expertise on systemic-dialogical working methods, approaches and their impact.
As part of the project, partnerships are being established with international experts and organisations specialising in child welfare and systemic practice.
The aim is to create a sustainable structure that enables wellbeing services counties to maintain and continuously develop their staff’s expertise in systemic-dialogical working methods, while responding to young people’s mental health and substance use challenges in child welfare through a relationship-based approach.
The development structure aims to strengthen expertise, coordinate and maintain specialist knowledge, and compile and evaluate evidence on the impact of systemic-dialogical practices as part of the development of child welfare services.
