Addressing the Skilled Workforce Shortage together
- The shortage of healthcare professionals is a serious national issue, with fewer applicants pursuing nursing studies.
- In South-Savo region, the shortage of nurses over the next ten years is projected to reach nearly 50%, while in Kymenlaakso, the estimated gap is around 28%.
- The sector needs international professionals and an improved public image.
- It is essential to secure internship opportunities for both Finnish and international nursing students.
