Active Life Lab

My role is broad and varied. It includes strengthening the research unit’s international networks and developing, conceptualising and productising our expert services, with a particular emphasis on testbed activities and commissioned research services. I represent our research unit in the Nordic Proof testbed network, which has also helped us establish connections with health and wellbeing ecosystems and innovation hubs across Europe.

I am also actively involved in coordinating Active Life Mikkeli, the development platform for the Kalevankangas area in the City of Mikkeli by boosting its RDI activities. Among current societal themes, comprehensive security is particularly close to my heart, especially from the perspectives of psychological crisis tolerance/resilience, mental, physical and social functional capacity, and accessible and effective health and wellbeing services.

My educational background is multidisciplinary. I hold a Master of Science degree with a major in Cell Biology, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialisation in Environmental Management and Risk Management. Furthermore, I hold a Master of Business Administration from a degree programme focused on the development of data-driven wellbeing services. In addition, I have completed studies in wellbeing coaching and workplace wellbeing.

Alongside my work in health and wellbeing, I bring extensive experience from the defence and security technology sector, including business, product and application management of CBRN solutions in an international export environment. My professional background also includes sales and marketing of life science research instruments and reagents, giving me a broad perspective across research, technology, business development, health and security.
