Xamk Participates in Kaakko25 Preparedness Exercise 

-We regularly participate in preparedness exercises because we want to improve our university’s operational readiness for various disruptions and emergencies. Our university’s situation management team will participate in the exercise, says Sampo Saarivirta, Preparedness and Safety Manager. 

The scenario for the Kaakko25 exercise involves an intensified international situation affecting national security, critical infrastructure, and the growth of military threats. The main theme of the exercise is civil protection and situational awareness during emergencies. Additionally, the exercise will focus on actions during disruptions in electricity, energy, gas, and water distribution. Nearly 1,000 people from about 130 different organizations will participate in the exercise.
