AI Competencies and Business Renewal

Smart Moves project is an educational project focused on artificial intelligence. It brings new knowledge and expertise in artificial intelligence to the technology industry, creative industries, and corporate management decision-making by tailoring the training and continuous learning content implemented in the project to the needs of these industries and local companies.

The main objective of the project is to support the renewal capabilities of technology industry companies and creative industry companies in South Savo by increasing the artificial intelligence skills of their personnel.

Project objectives

The main objective of the project is to support the renewal capabilities of technology and creative industry companies in South Savo by increasing the AI skills of their personnel.

Another objective is to provide company management and entrepreneurs with the skills and tools they need to develop their strategic capabilities in artificial intelligence and to help companies in the region meet the requirements of new artificial intelligence regulations.

Sub-objectives are:

1. Produce training content on artificial intelligence that meets the identified needs of technology companies and creative industries

2. Promote further training and retraining opportunities that support employment in a situation where artificial intelligence is significantly changing professions and threatening the jobs of experts

3. Strengthen expertise and adaptability related to artificial intelligence and its application, particularly in technology and creative industries

4. Strengthen the expertise of company management and entrepreneurs in artificial intelligence and support companies in developing artificial intelligence policies

5. Increase the artificial intelligence capabilities, expertise, and willingness to learn among companies and their personnel in the region

6. Promote the development of good working life, taking into account, for example, the responsibility of artificial intelligence

7. Strengthen South Savo’s ability to utilize artificial intelligence expertise by developing training opportunities

Key actions of the project

AI mapping for companies and organizations

Free

The project will conduct a survey of AI-related skills needs among organizations in the technology industry and creative industry sectors in the South Savo region. With the support of the project team, the organizations will describe 1) the current stage of development in the utilization of artificial intelligence based on maturity models and 2) their expertise needs related to artificial intelligence so that these can be met as effectively as possible through practical training.

The surveys provide companies and organizations with information about their AI expertise.

AI trainings for management and entrepreneurs

Free

The training supports organization management in recognizing the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and its impact on work organization and skill requirements. The training takes into account risk management, ethical considerations, and legal issues related to artificial intelligence, such as copyright, GDPR and personal data protection, contract law, software licenses, service agreements, competition law, labor legislation, employee rights, and liability for damages.

Training courses are designed based on skills assessments.

Customized coaching and workshops for management and entrepreneurs

De minimis support

Customized sparring sessions and workshops support company management in making their own goal-oriented AI choices. These include, for example, a roadmap for monitoring and utilizing AI, AI policy and strategy, and connections to national and European expertise networks.

Coaching sessions and workshops are tailored to the individual needs of each organization.

AI trainings for staff

Free

The training ensures that participants from the technology industry and creative industry sectors have the expertise and ability to perform smart actions, in other words, to add intelligence to existing production and service processes, and to identify new applications for artificial intelligence.

Results of the project

  1. Strengthening AI expertise – Companies and organizations in South Savo have become more capable of utilizing AI in their production and operational processes. The project has also accelerated the interaction and networking between different actors, as well as cooperation between companies and RDI activities. The Memory Lab environment is being used more extensively to increase the AI expertise of companies and other participating organizations, thereby increasing the impact of infrastructure investment.
  2. Strategic AI thinking – Companies and organizations have been supported in defining their AI policies, developing their AI strategies, and better responding to the requirements of AI regulations.
  3. Practical application – Companies and organizations have been offered concrete, sector-specific training and learning paths for utilizing artificial intelligence.
  4. Increased adaptability – Companies, organizations and employees have been supported in adapting to the changes brought about by artificial intelligence.
  5. Local vitality and competitiveness – The project has promoted the ability of the South Savo business community to utilize artificial intelligence in a sustainable and innovative way.
