The aim of the project is to design and establish a Digital Innovation Centre (DIH) in Southern Savo in cooperation with key actors.
Backgound

The Digital Innovation Centres (DIH) aim to accelerate the digital transformation of industry, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, and the public sector. DIHs are multi-actor networks that are easily approachable for companies and offer a wide range of services that support digitalisation on a one-stop-shop basis.

The project plans and establishes a DIH in South Savo. This requires extensive cooperation between actors from South Savo. The project brings together the most significant South Savonian companies, clusters and developers of South Savonian business life and supports joint planning work to plan DIH’s structures and operating methods. These structures and operating methods define how we develop South Savonian business together at the level of strategic management and coordination, so that we use the region’s resources even more wisely and we will serve the companies in the area more clearly and effectively.

From the point of view of companies and other organisations that invest in digital transformation, it would be clearer to have a familiar and well-established service point for them, offering development services on a one-stop-shop basis. This purpose is served by the DIH concept created by the European Union. The EU aims to create a dedicated digital innovation hub for each EU region, providing companies a one-stop shop for a wide range of digitalisation-promoting services in the areas of technology experimentation, business and competence development, financial advice and network building.

Targets

The project responds to the EU’s goal of launching and developing digital innovation hubs (DIHs) made up of expert organisations and promotes their cooperation at European, national and regional levels. The aim of the project is to plan and establish a DIH in Southern Savo in cooperation with key operators in Southern Savo. Above all, the project is about building cooperation and supporting joint agreement.
