The aim is to strengthen the cooperation and networking of wood industry operators to promote industrial wood construction in Eastern Finland.

 

In the Eastern Finland wood product cluster project, the cooperation and networking of wood industry operators is strengthened to promote industrial wood construction in Eastern Finland.

 

AIM

The project develops the wood products industry by promoting the spread of industrial wood construction solutions, developing new innovations and better use of the material in industry. The project develops new methods of operation and new business, and raises the level of expertise in the field. As a result of the project, a diverse Eastern Finnish cooperation network of wood product operators will be created, which cooperates on many different levels.

WP 4. Communication, dissemination and exploitation

 

The main project implementer is the city of Kuhmo, Woodpolis. The implementers of the sub-projects are South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), Northeast Finland development company Naturpolis Oy, University of Oulu Measurement Technology Unit (MITY) from Kajaani, and the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in Joensuu and Savonlinna.

Eastern Finland Wood Product Cluster project is co-funded by the European Union, granted by the Regional Council of Kainuu. Xamk’s part of the total budget is € 149 728 €, from which the amount of EU funding is € 119 782.
