Developing understanding and knowledge of work-related mental health issues in the context of fire and rescue services in Finland

MentalFireFit RDI-project consists four work packages, which are carried out in close cooperation between the Finnish Association of Fire Officers and Xamk. The main purpose of the project is to systematically and nationally develop understanding and knowledge of work-related mental health issues in the context of fire and rescue services in Finland. The purpose of this project is to promote nationwide awareness of the importance of work-related mental health protection and to ensure continuity.

The WPs are:

WP 1: Increase awareness of managing work-related mental wellbeing

WP 2: Further training and networking of those who currently work as mental health personnel in the fire and rescue services.

WP 3: Promoting mentally safe work communities in fire and rescue services

WP 4: Development of defusing and post-trauma activities

 

Xamk’s role in this project is to develop training and educational content and to do research.
