Accelerating the digital transformation of regional SMEs and public organizations with one-stop shop strategy.

Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) seek to accelerate the digital transformation of regional SMEs and public organizations. They are one-stop shops that help companies become more competitive with regard to their business/production processes, products or services using digital technologies, by providing access to technical expertise and experimentation, so that companies can “test before invest”. They also provide innovation services, such as financing advice, training and skills development that are needed for a successful digital transformation.

The purpose of this project is to prepare plans for DIH to be established in South Savo. The project clarifies and coordinates stakeholders’ efforts to improve the viability of the region.

The project results with a reported plan for establishing DIH in South Savo. The plan is created guided by investigations, service design activities and collaborative workshops, consisting of following viewpoints:

  1. existing resources that are relevant for the regional DIH
  2. customer segments, their characteristics and needs
  3. vision of the new regional DIH
  4. tentative concepts of the offered DIH services
  5. plans for establishing the regional DIH including organizational form, implementation plan and financing of the DIH

The created plan seeks to provide asnwers for how to support regional companies in their digital transformation with a one-stop strategy. The planned services shall be aligned to meet better the needs of regional companies. Furthermore, the offered services are diversified by creating collaborative ties with other DIHs.
