Join the Educational Games Jam at Meduusa Studio, Kouvola.

The goal is to create a playable prototype of an educational game.

The jams are open to anyone interested. Whether you’re a veteran game jammer or a first-timer, welcome!

💡What

Game jams about educational games. During the three jam days, the goal is to create one playable prototype of a digital or board or card game.

All jam days include a short intro to the “educational” aspect of creating educational games.

You will get access to related materials on Open Learn. We also provide challenges from our teachers you can work on solving.

The event is free but requires registration.

Snacks and coffee & tea are provided!

For Xamk’s students and anyone interested in developing educational games

Organised by

The jams are organised by Learn to Play for the Future project, co-funded by the European Union.

We want to increase student engagement in schools by introducing innovations in educational game development and gamification.

During the jams, we would also like to ask your opinions on how to enhance and develop the educational jams into an electable course about educational game design.

Participating in these surveys is optional, but it will greatly help us in creating an interesting course for the next year.

Device Policy

Xamk students are able to use the PCs in the classroom during the jams. You may bring your own laptop and/or other materials. We will provide basic supplies such as paper, pens and tape for prototyping.

“I am a ‘multimedia artist,’ a gamification enthusiast, and I am deeply interested in game design, AV technology, and culture, as well as their intersections. I am quiet, attentive, and compassionate. I enjoy finding solutions to all kinds of problems.

I work in Kymenlaakso, in Kouvola, at the Kasarminmäki campus in Meduusa Studio. My primary role is as a gamification and digitalization expert in the Creative Industries Research Unit, participating in various projects.
