

Strengthening the cooperation between the game technology education and the industry
The aim of the project is to facilitate the employment of graduating professionals and positively address the skills shortage in the technology sectors.
Key measures
OBJECTIVES
The main goal of the project is to establish close cooperation between students in the game technology degree program and local businesses, developing innovative solutions from culture to healthcare. At the same time, the aim is to enhance the interdisciplinary skills of students and the business network of the new degree program.
MEASURES
The project will implement dedicated workshops for four different sectors, based on which 3-4 student teams will carry out projects utilizing game technologies for each sector. In total, 10-15 products, services, or pilots utilizing game technologies will be created for various sectors.
RESULTS
The operating model strengthens students’ professional skills, provides valuable project expertise, and promotes employment while supporting the development of the new degree program’s professional collaboration network. The project emphasizes the placement of graduating students in the region, promotes entrepreneurship, and guides ideas and teams with business potential into Xamk’s entrepreneurship programs. Local organizations and businesses will enhance their skills in applying game technologies, simultaneously strengthening their own business operations. The project promotes the employment of technology professionals in both the short and long term, positively addressing the regional skills shortage and supporting student employment during and after their studies.
