The growing use of gaming technologies in all industries creates innovations that require new skills. Threats related to information security are affecting more and more people, and the importance of preparedness is emphasised. Gaming technologies and cybersecurity are a significant part of the digital society as a whole.
Our experts develop, study, and apply game technologies concentrating on areas such as game programming, gamification, 3D graphics, virtual reality, and augmented reality. In addition, we support game companies in their business development and internationalization activities.
Our projects meet the needs of the gaming industry. In the projects, we focus on game programming, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).

At the Kotka campus, learning environments and other facilities for studying are designed to support both theoretical knowledge and practical skills development. With the new campus, classrooms, laboratories, specialized facilities, and self-study areas are comfortable and modern. There are approximately 3500 students on campus.
Kotka produces engineers, nurses, paramedics, naprapaths, maritime captains, and social workers. In addition to degree education, expertise can also be gained through the Open University of Applied Sciences, Xamk Pulse.
The campus also engages in diverse research and development activities, providing opportunities to participate in innovative projects.
