Coming again in March 2026!

The next seminar will be held on March 25, 2026.

The Resto competition will take over Mikkeli and Xamk’s campus from March 23–25, 2026, and the Tomorrow’s Dining Table seminar warmly welcomes the competitors!

The goal of the seminar is to open new perspectives on the dining table and provide inspiring insights into the possibilities offered by Xamk RestoLab. We hope the event will create new opportunities for students and businesses, fostering innovative forms of collaboration.

The event will take place at Xamk’s Mikkeli campus.

Who is the event for?

The event is free of charge and it is for everyone interested in the development of food and tourism, especially professionals and companies in the field.

The seminar is produced by projects of the Responsible food services research unit.


The program will be updated in autumn 2025.

Sustainable Food services research unit

What unit?

The aim of the Sustainable food services research unit is to promote ecological, economic, and social responsibility in food services. Our goal is to strengthen the regional food system and service business, and internationalise them. This is achieved by increasing expertise and developing the planning and implementation of production and service processes. Development goals and solutions are defined in collaboration with working life.

Reduced food waste and energy consumption

Good and healthy eating for the elderly

    We research and develop the future of the food industry.

    RESTO Competition 2026

    The RESTO knowledge competitions, better known as RESTO competitions, are annual national championships that test the skills of hospitality management students in Finland. The competition is organized by universities of applied sciences offering hospitality management education, with rotating responsibility across Finland.

    The goal of the competition is to showcase the expertise of hospitality management students, promote hospitality education, support regional cooperation with working life, and create opportunities for networking.

    The 2026 competition will be held in Mikkeli from March 23–25, 2026!
