My integration to Finnish education concept took very little time, thanks to the welcoming and supportive atmosphere at Xamk and a team of teachers and staff who are always ready to help.
My first degree was in technology and telecommunication field. I worked for about 13 years in the corporate sales sector, where the work responsibilities, with the large-scale growth of the company’s development, began to cover more and more other areas, such as development and marketing.
At some moment, I realized that international business and sales development is what I would like to do.
And for the further growth, I felt a lack of a theoretical background. The choice of the International Business Management program was obvious.
I was interested in the concepts of Xamk in the approach to the educational process with an emphasis on the continuous practical application of the knowledge gained.
A New adventure of life
My studies started a new (a little scary at the same time, like everything new) adventure of life for me. This probably also related to the issue of complicated multitasking when organizing a move from Russia to Finland, especially as a single parent with an early ages child.
Finnish education concept differs from that adopted in Russia. But the integration took very little time, thanks to the welcoming and supportive atmosphere at Xamk and a team of teachers and staff who are always ready to help.
Studying in English
English still remains globally accepted business language. Studying in English, you immediately get used to the accepted terms, accustom yourself to work and research in an English-speaking environment. As the “non-native” language, it allows you to open new horizons and gives new perspectives of vision.
I can say for sure that I am very pleased with the acquired skills and feel more confident with the new knowledge. For me, the Master´s degree served as a logical step in the way of my personal and professional development.
