Xamk Strengthens International Partnerships – Over 50 Education Agents Visited Campuses
Xamk utilizes international recruitment agents as part of its global education marketing strategy. Building these partnerships takes time and effort. Currently, Xamk has recruitment agents in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Xamk’s education export services organized the program in collaboration with other Xamk units. The agenda included campus tours, workshops, educational presentations, and networking dinners. The campus cities also actively participated, offering guests a chance to experience local life and culture.
“This was the first time Xamk organized a week-long familiarization trip for education agents – and the feedback was positive,” said student recruitment specialist Juha Jormakka.
Why Are Fam Trips Important?
Fam trips, or familiarization trips, are a well-established practice in the international education market. They provide recruitment agents with first-hand experience of the institution, its environment, and offerings, helping them promote the education more effectively in their home countries to prospective students.
Through these visits, agents gain accurate information that supports student recruitment and fosters long-term collaboration.
The event also focused on building personal relationships. When education agents and staff meet face-to-face, it builds trust and understanding – the foundation of successful cooperation.
“It’s important to know who you’re working with. This benefits both parties – it’s a win-win situation,” Jormakka added.
Looking Ahead
The first fam trip was a success and laid the groundwork for potential future visits. Xamk continues to invest in international collaboration, which strengthens its visibility and appeal in the global education field. The agent network is part of Xamk’s broader international student recruitment strategy. Other key investments include international fairs and online portals.
