Rolling admission
In addition to Joint application, you can apply to many degree programmes at South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk through Rolling admission.
Rolling admission is a convenient way to apply to Xamk from outside Finland, but we welcome applications also from those already living in Finland who find the Rolling admission selection methods suitable.
Student selection methods in the Rolling admission include the certificate-based selection for eligible non-Finnish degrees and the international admission tests (bachelor’s programmes: SAT, master’s programmes: GMAT/GRE). Some programme-specific methods like pre-tasks and/or interviews are also used.
Rolling admission opens on 15 May 2026
The application closes when the study places have been filled or on 15 August 2026 at the latest.

How to apply
Applying to Xamk through Rolling admission
Students in the Rolling admission process are admitted in the order of submitted, complete applications. Applications are processed continuously, and we aim to publish the admission result within three weeks of receiving a complete application. When the admission criteria include an interview, the result is published after the interview has been evaluated.
An application is considered complete when
- it includes the required documents,
- the applicable test results have been delivered to Xamk (TOEFL, SAT, GMAT or GRE test) and
- the application fee, if required, has been paid.
The admission result can be an offer of admission, a waiting list status or a rejection. If you are placed on the waiting list, you will be notified by email if your position changes or if a study place becomes available later. The timetable in the Rolling admission is tight. When you are offered admission, you always have three weeks to accept the offer and pay the tuition fee, if required.
You may submit only one application and apply to one degree programme at Xamk in the Rolling admission procedure. You cannot submit another application even if your first application is rejected, so it is important to check the programme requirements carefully before applying.
- You can make changes to your application until it has been processed at Xamk. Changes can be made either by editing the application in Studyinfo (use the link in the confirmation email) or by contacting Xamk Admission Services.
All required documents must be uploaded to your application before submission. Please check the list of required documents in advance and prepare them before filling in the application form. If the requirements include a pre‑task, it must also be attached to the application. Missing documents or missing test results (TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, or GRE) may delay the processing of your application and lower your chances of admission.
All documents required for the application are uploaded to the application form on Studyinfo before submitting the application.
If any of the compulsory attachments is missing, or if the applicable test results (TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, GRE) have not been delivered to Xamk, the processing time for your application is prolonged and your chances of admission may be lower.
The submitted certificates do not need to be attested or certified at the application stage. However, Xamk may verify qualification details (such as completion and grades) during the application process and may request additional verification later if required.
The required documents include:
- passport, EU/EEA identity card with a photo or Finnish driving license
- proof of English language skills, see requirements on the Xamk Rolling admission website
- degree certificate and transcript of records or statement of marks for the eligible qualification
- certificate issued by the educational institution or awarding body of grading scale used in the eligible diploma. The grading scale must provide sufficient information for example on grade division and minimum passing grades. Sometimes the scale is given on the front or back side of the final certificate or transcript. (Not required when applying with SAT).
- document exempting from tuition fees (if applicable), see exempting documents on the Xamk tuition fees website
- official translations of all documents not originally written in English, Finnish or Swedish
- certificate of change of name (if applicable): if your name on the qualification certificates is not the same as your name on your passport, a certificate of change of name is required (e.g. certificate of marriage).
- if you apply with SAT or GMAT/GRE test score: upload your score report and have your score delivered to Xamk from the test organiser
All documents required for the application are uploaded to the application form on Studyinfo before submitting the application.

- Entrepreneurship is accepted as work experience if you can produce a certificate attesting that you have been covered under the statutory YEL or MYEL pension scheme in Finland. Enterprising activities abroad should be substantiated with comparable official documents.

- Work experience does not have to be continuous or obtained working for the same employer. The amount of work experience considered for simultaneous employments may not exceed the amount considered for full-time employment.
- Military or non-military national service, women’s voluntary military service or child-care leave will not be counted towards work experience.

Applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies. The application is considered only after the required fee has been paid.
Please note that the fee is collected by the Finnish National Agency for Education, not by Xamk.
The application fee is specific to each academic term. Your payment is valid only for the starting term of the study programme for which you have applied and paid the application fee. For example, if you have paid the fee for studies starting in autumn 2026 (August intake) and later apply for studies starting in spring 2027 (January intake), you must pay a new application fee, as autumn 2026 and spring 2027 are different start terms.
The Finnish higher education institutions charge tuition fees for students outside the EU/EEA area. The fees concern the study programmes conducted in English. Further information on who is required to pay the tuition fees can be found on the Studyinfo.fi service. If you are liable to pay the application fee, you are generally also liable to pay tuition fee for the studies.
You can submit only one application and apply to one degree programme at Xamk through the Rolling Admission procedure. You cannot submit another application, even if your first application is rejected.
You are advised to check the programme requirements carefully before applying and choose your programme with care.
If the same applicant submits more than one application, only the most recently submitted application is considered. However, once the admission result for the first application has been published, any other applications are no longer considered.
You can make changes to a submitted application until it has been processed at Xamk. You should not submit a new application in order to make changes.
You can update your application either by editing it on Studyinfo (via the link in the confirmation email) or by contacting Xamk Admission Services by email.
Once you have received the admission result, no further changes can be made.
